Flight stands!

Today was spent hacking away at numerous kits and gluing them to my hands. Once dry, the pieces were detached and placed on large bases.

The theme: ruined city. I can work with that. I had a lot of room to work since the miniatures themselves are going to be hovering above the bases. I made myself a pile a began scavenging from it. I wanted a little room for some contaminated streams and some taller elements I could experiment with acid rain on.

One of my budding brush buddies Karissa spent some time on her first mini as well :)
More on that once its finished.

Finished! Fennblade Kithkar

Great miniature, I really like where the troll sculpts are going lately. I added a banner to this guy so he'd be a little different than all the other individuals. I was also happy to feed my recent appetite for sculpting tiny animals.. Enjoy :)

Finished! Lord of Nurgle

Here's the final result after putting the brush to him. You can look back a few posts to see the sculpting in the raw. I'm already wanting to do a project like this again. My sculpting definitely needs a lot of improvement but when the figure you're sculpting is intended to be a rotting hulk you can color outside the lines a little.

Finished! Son of Ogimos

He's been finished for a while but I've neglected the picture taking part until now. This was one of my entries for this year's Crystal Brush awards and I was happy to take home a gold brush with him. In this piece I've also gained a greater ambition to sculpt more.

Stay tuned!

Lord of the Flies

I've been struck by somewhat of a sculpting fascination lately. After venturing to my friend Kevin's shop I walked away with one the clamshell nurgle fantasy champions. I wanted to make him 40K appropriate and add some more chaotic stylings. Many layers of putty later (thanks to StyleX) I had arrived on this pile of a man.

Now it's time to see what color he ends up being :)

Finished! Khorne Bloodwave

Here's the final results of the detachment of Berzerkers I posted last week. Again, the focusing problems, I'm ok with it.  I have to say the Red Butcher Terminators added some life to the project, very cool minis.

Broken glass and blood everywhere :)
