Finished! Leman Russ, Primarch of the Space Wolves

The man with the mane himself! Had a blast on this project, who doesn't love a good ol space viking? Dual weilding and smashing every heretic in the whole wide burning galaxy.
Enjoy!

Finished! Mortarion, Primarch of the Death Guard

Mortarion, Primarch of the Death Guard. But I call him Buttermoth. This was my second time painting this model, which is always and interesting experience on such a large figure, spending that much time again on the same model. What did I like from the last one and what would I have done differently? I forgot but here are some pictures.

Finished! Fulgrim, Primarch of the Emperor's Children

This is my second time painting this model, it was a fun challenge to not look back at the previous version and try to beat the CMON score..Still haven't checked that but here he is, 2018 version.

Finished! Robute Guilliman

The reawaked mad dad himself, the man with about a hundred nicknames, Robute Guilliman! I've always enjoyed the Ultramarines color scheme, add to that blazing flames and I'm happier than expected.

Finished! Perturabo, Primarch of the Iron Warriors

A damn fine sculpt in a full metal jacket.

This time around it dawned on me to magnetize the display base so the model could be removed for gaming. Which was possible because the base was a wreck and no one would notice the seams ;)

Painted for a special dude I met by attending Adepticon for the last 5 years. Cheers Duncan, See you and the con!

WIP Perturabo

The walking fortress himself Perturabo! It's been a challenge going the NMM route on this but it's worth the effort. This sculpt is one of my favorites Forgeworld/Gamesworkshop/whatever they call themselves have produced. It absolutely captures, in a sculpture, the artwork style of John Blanche. I can't say it any better than that. An absolute joy to bring to life.

Here's how it began.

Airbrush!

Paintbrush!

Money shot of that sweet wet pallet. I had to mix up a custom gray /blue to get it just right. Exile blue, Vallejo black and white.

Preppin and steppin, also a little preview of an upcoming project. I know it's hard to tell but the chunky components that make up the scenic base have been magnetized so Perturabo can be used in game as well. It finally dawned on me to magnetize those scenic bases after painting three Primarchs..Live and learn, slowly I guess.

Alright, Back to it! I have Empire soldiers to build and a Grolar to paint!
