Wreck-Age Mess in Progress

This weeks painting activities have been dedicated to the latest group of new sculpts from Wreck-Age. More minis for the Drifters, Stitch Men, and what I believe is a mercenary type figure.

Here is the mess I've been making.

Sunday should be the day for their photo session. Then, after I take pictures of these 10 models, I might not take pictures of my Crystal Brush Winners.

Finished! Commander Farsight

You know you've been slacking on your blog when you go through the process of photographing something and you never post it. Damn. So here's a piece I did in February. I posted some wip shots but never the final result. 15 hours of painting and modelling later, Commander Farsight is ready to hit the table :)

Warhounds in progress step 3

Soon these pups will be all ready to play with their new master. Today was the part I've been looking most forward to, adding an excessive amount of gore. The first layer, pictured below, is drying as I'm typing this :)

Brother John stopped by and took some pictures of me.
It will be nice to get this clutter out of the way.

40 ish hours later, I'm almost done.

Warhounds WIP

Everybody loves twins!

How about twins with guns for hands and demon hearts?

I'm finally at that point with this project where I can say there is more behind me than ahead :) Here's a dump of some in progress shots I took yesterday and today.

I'm anticipating in another 10 hours this project should be complete...Yeah.. it will be done..definitely.

Washing the dogs of war

I've been working on these two for the last couple weeks, I guess it's about time I start blogging about it. Painting Warhounds or any other large project is always something to look forward to as I can experiment with my airbrush on a larger scale. Assembling those models however, is a pain in the dick. It all starts with a six foot four man washing a plastic doll in his kitchen sink.

Then is was on the basing..The drinks will denote the time of day. Haha, gross.

I've been painting them for about a week now but there's not much to report when you're painting one color per day. Today I did black for 3 hours, tomorrow I'll do silver highlights etc..Not much to report. Or is there?

Return from Adepticon/Crystal Brush 2014

Another year and another great adventure. This event always provides me with a much needed fire under my ass. This past year for me has been what a good friend descdided as "a face kicking" for me. Much progress had been lost but maybe it just took a different direction?

As usual when I try to document conventions the end result is quite random as my objectives change. It is a shame I didn't get more pictures of the crystal brush entries. I had many inspiring talks with my fellow painters around that case and I already have next year's entries cued up in my mind. It was a rare treat for me be able to talk with that many miniature painters. Can't wait to see what people bring next year.

At the end of the show I took home 3 Crystal Brushes, 2 gold and one bronze..I couldn't believe it. I didn't expect to win anything. Although I was excited I know my work needs much improvement for next year.
