Preparing the Banner of House Teknes

I was really excited to get to this point. Some deep down and detailed freehand. After making some practice sketches to get a general idea I set to sketching my design over the black field. I didn't care to much about being messy here, it will all be covered in the end.

Next I layed down many swampy layers of the chosen colors and was able to start carving out my intended design.

With the foundation in place it was all straight forward.

Refining and refining, It's still not complete at this point but it's clear to see and is on autopilot from here to completion :)

Preppin and Steppin to the house of Teknes

This piece has been floating around my workspace for too long now.
It was a gift from a friend at last year's Adepticon and I intend to show him the finished piece this year. Wish me luck! Here are those first steps..

After the airbrush.

Bare-assed base. There is some joy in guiding the randomness of rubble :)

Set up for the Quickblend base coat.

All done and slightly wet with ink. I like the muddy look and might go for it with some glossy coats in the end.

Stay tuned! The banner comes next!

Finished! Life After the Fall

These are some tabletop supplies for Joe and company over at Worlds End Publishing. A post apocalyptic skirmish game that allows for miniatures from any manufacturer. You may notice the bases aren't done. I was told to just paint the minis and they would base them to match their existing collection. Fine by me, I did black them out to provide a little contrast.

Enjoy!

Finished! Baharroth, Cry of the wind

One more addition to the Mymera army painted a few posts back. Bharroth, Cry of the Wind, Kevin the bits pimp put him together and I smoothed out the edges.

Enjoy!

Finished! Witches of Slaneesh

As part of the last commission, Konrad Curze, I also had a pair of Reaper figurines to fill in as unit leaders in mobs of daemonettes. All for the Glory of Chaos :)

What's on the table?

Many projects, that's what! Kind of a granted on a blog about miniatures but sometimes projects slip through the radar of my blog. I sat down today and realised I was triple teamed. So here's a little moment in time, before the bristles and after the airbrush. It's a tabletop job for Joey from This is Not a Test. A few WreckAge figures, some bones monsters, and a couple zombies from Brigade Games.

Dude, where's my army? Following the mymera Eldar commission my buddy Kevin had to add some bass to the mix. Also, a scratch build Baharroth, he'll have his own post in the future.

Here lies the future banner of clan Teknes, a personal project of mine involving a Wrath of Kings figure. You can see his base coming along in the first picture.

Finished! Konrad Curze, Primarch of the Night Lords

The grand daddy manflayer himself, Konrad Curze.

I had quite a time photographing this one. I shot him three separate times and was still coming up with unfocused areas :/ Here is one of the shoots I did with some different settings. Still too red looking..?

Still not sure which one looks best. He's up on Coolmini for kicks, Enjoy!

Crusin' with the Curze

If you hadn't guessed last time, the tiny corpses were ornaments for Mr. Curze, Primarch of the Night Lords. He was painted up over the last few days and I present here, some pivotal moments of his progress.

Impaled

Airbrushed

Hitting the wood pavement.

Next time around I'll have the finished piece in all his scalpulent glory, so..
