Finished! Ghazzi Muttawi'ah

It's a good thing this blog is done through the written word and not spoken because I'm sure I'm not pronouncing that work right ha. But the Haqqislam force grows no matter the pronunciation! This time I've added a pair of Ghazzi Muttawi'ah (Mutts for short) to the roster.

I still have to finish four more models to complete this list but I'll have enough time between now and January 20th. I also have a massive project that will be taking most of my time in January but more on that later. I'll be resuming a faster pace to this blog in the future, just been enyjoing a little time to myself during the holiday season.

I hope you all had a happy holiday and enjoy the new year, Cheers!

WIP Haqqislam Expansion

Leading up to the holiday I've decided to take a break from painting and do some painting. But this time for myself. After playing a few games with my new Haqqislam army I've made some changes to the roster. I'd also like to attend Waaaghpaca this January and field a fully painted list. So the main objective of this week, besides sculpting, is to paint a small expansion..I'm still waiting on the final couple of models to show up so it's just the four for now.

I'm not a fan of the standard smart missle bearing "chicken bot" in the Haqq range so I picked up a box of Kameel remotes and added a missle pod from a different game. Not sure where I picked that up.

Weapon of Hell

This is part of a much larger project and you have to start somewhere. So I'm focused on getting the sculpting out of the way. Which has been fun, my only problem is waiting for the putty to finally cure before adding the next layer. But on a near formless demonic stye, that can be used to your advantage.

Table Notes, Dec 2016

I'm always painting but sometimes that focus is spread across middle earth and deep space. The is week has been productive but I don't have anything finished to show for it. Many things started though and thos will yield its rewards when the time comes. So this time around I just wanted to show a single picture and show what I saw when it hit me that I need to focus in :)

This weekend I have some one on one coaching to do and then it's back to the grind, in a more focused way.

WIP Moonstone!

The second step of the butchers I recently finished is painting some Moonstone figures for the same dude. Baron Von Fancyhat and the firespitter, fun!

Finished! Haqqislam Hasassin Barid

While the putty was drying, this guy was painted up during last weekends paint jam. Another addition to the Haqqislam force! The Hassassin Barid Hacker with AD combat jump. Good but not really an exemplary set of skills in most factions but coupled with his high WIP of 14, smart missles get a lot more doable.

Weekend Paint Jam!

This weekend Tom and I road tripped down to Jeff's place in Chicago to do what we do. Paint jam!

We didn't have a particular focus for this one which was the theme in its own way. I had some projects that needed sculpting first and since I painted every Haqqislam model I own, I ordered one more figure to add to the force.

The chaos ensues!

This time I brought along an shitty light box to capture progress shots of everyone's projects. I'd say it was an improvement.

I paced myslef on the sculpting by painting in between dry times. I really enjoy sculpting but takes a different measure of patience waiting for each step to dry before adding more.

The jam concluded and we each set out with a little more mmomentum behind our projects. It's been very conductive to set up these paint jams every few months. Fun!

Finished! Butchers Guild

Straight from the slaughterhouse and into your local sports arena.

This was a fun group of models to paint up. They are all to the same scheme but pack a lot of differences and roles on the field I suppose. Never played the game but I know you can have a mascot for your team and it can be a pig in bondage.

Or you can hire a gigantic bald man with the grace of a figure skater.

Finished! All the Kings men, part 1

I mentioned before that there was a larger project going on behind the scenes. Nothing crazy, just some tabletop that I didn't feel like posting about multiple times ha. This commission comes from the land down under and what I have finished is about a quarter of the total job. For sanity's sake I broke it up into installments. The first piece being 36 handgunners, 9 flagellants, 3 artillery, and one mounted general. Here's chapter one.
