Lamenters finished!

Just like the title says :)

Part of the commission was to model and paint 10 assault marines from a death company box and an assault squad box. All of these have magnetized backpacks so they can be either footslogging or jump packing.

I also had to make 2 seargeants with a load of options.

I also painted up a rhino for them. Not sure why the pics came out so different.

The other part was painting up 10 reeeeally old assault marines.

Shazaam!

Lamenters Progress log

I'm off to a decent start on the Lamenters from the last post. Here's where they sit at the moment. I'm about to finish them off and I haven't even posted some in progress shots.

Brittny and I had a bit of an art party to kick things off.

Krokus was in attendance as well :)

Brother John is vacationing in Alabama at the moment. This little thing has been hanging out with me in John's absence.

Well, now is the time to finish this massive project. More on them later.

Trollbloods Axer Complete

Here's the finished Axer. I call him Krokus :)
Enjoy!

I was experimenting with NMM techniques again. This time after the blending I went back and added successive scratches. I'm happy with how this guy came out and next time I'll have a better idea of what I want to do. He was really just a practice for how I want to paint my Fennblades. More on them later, at the moment I have to paint some yellow and black space marines...

Personal project friday

I sat down with my girlfriend and one of my roommates last night like we did the week before. The first time around I was thinking "wow I should take some pictures right now".

There was a lot more concentration in the room than this picture suggests.

I sat under my lights over to the left. Brittny worked on a painting she's been working up lately and Amy was knitting some socks, winter is almost upon us after all.

I didn't get a picture of the socks before Amy crawled off to bed but I assure you I will some day. Because what you want to see when you click on a minis blog is a pair of socks and a watercolor painting.

I was busy working on the Troll Axer I showed last friday. I've mastered the photos and I'm just waiting for them to be approved on Coolmini to post the finished pictures here. Enjoy a little teaser ;)

Not every day can be devoted to personal projects. Here's a big yellow pile of what I've been busying myself with lately. An addition to a Lamenters force for my pal Tom. One rhino, 10 classic lead rogue trade assault marines, and a mishmash between a death company box and an assault marine box. The 10 plastic minis have 42 magnets between the 10 of them. Here they sit with a basecoat and a massive amount of modelling completed. (finally)

You may notice that menacing figure leering from the left. That's also an upcoming project. Of course I'm waiting for a second cast of this model to arrive in the mail before I paint it. Long story short just read 90% of the reviews on finecast out there.

Dark Angels Vindicator Squadron is go!

Here be these vindicators three.

These were commission for Kevin the Bitz Pimp (http://myworld.ebay.com/teachermickeymouse/?_trksid=p4340.l2559) He's been branching off of his deathwing lately and in Apocalypse games they add a 10" blast that destroys scenery as well as plastic men. Neat stuff!

Kind of a quick and dirty mural that turned into a 2 hour ordeal :)

Wip it good

I've decided to set aside every friday as "Personal Project Friday". We'll see how long it lasts, the important thing is to keep changing things up to keep it spicy. I'm scheduled for a game of Warmachine/Hordes against my pal Adam (http://atomsmashing.wordpress.com/) tomorrow. He's bringing his Khador and I fear he has managed to fully paint his entire force. This scares me as everyone knows painted models roll better. There's no way I can lose any other way... So I'm attempting to get more of my force painted. This Axer will make number 4  for my completed Trollbloods tally once he's done.

Here he is so far, one more good sit down with him and I should have it licked.

Here he is when I was planning out the colors and laying some basecoats.

Yesterday Kevin, the aforementioned Adam, and I took a trip to a meeting for a gaming (N.E.W. Wargamers) club located a bit further away. They were a great group of guys and I definitely enjoyed doing something new. We all sat around in a knitting circle and worked on our various projects. I was pumping out some Vindicators for Kevin (http://myworld.ebay.com/teachermickeymouse/?_trksid=p4340.l2559) at the moment.

Here's an up close of one of them. They're not quite finished as the title suggests.

Minis For Sale! Minis For Sale!

So I've finally moved into my new place and was able to produce some minis from my new area. Although it's not finished yet it's quite a step up from my last area.

Time to liquidate:

Ork Warboss

Sanguinary Priest

Nurgle Demon Prince

Dark Eldar Haemonculus

And that's just the Ebay projects. I have many exciting projects large and small and I do mean LARGE in the works. I'm writing this post from the trenches, syphoning bits of the internet from one town and moving to the next. Soon I'll have the internet hooked up at my new place and I can resume posting more regularly. I'll be posting pictures of games too :) my new place is large enough to fit an 8" by 4" table with plenty of room to spare for painting, photography, and airbrushing! Ain't nothin' but a party y'all!
