I was convinced not to paint the ball like a steaming sh*t by my client. I can say I'm happy with the result but will always wonder what could have been. So until I cross paths with a dung ball again we will have this garden rock to appreciate. Also some sweet beetle shell tones.

Painted during a one on one teaching session with my buddy Newton Potter aka the Painting Noob. After discussing his goals and chosen theme we decided on post-apocalyptic. Naturally we chose a model in football armor, with some slight modifications. It was a chance to paint up a model that I consider an instant classic. Savvy nerds will notice his namesake is shared with the villain from the first Mad Max movie.
What have I been listening to? Supremative!
This is my second time painting this model, it was a fun challenge to not look back at the previous version and try to beat the CMON score..Still haven't checked that but here he is, 2018 version.

The reawaked mad dad himself, the man with about a hundred nicknames, Robute Guilliman! I've always enjoyed the Ultramarines color scheme, add to that blazing flames and I'm happier than expected.

It's about time I put together an FAQ, a few of the more often asked questions that I get :) Enjoy!
What kind of brushes do you use?
The brand of cheap synthetics I use are called the fine touch. The main reason I but them is for their firm Golden Talkon synthetic bristles. I also use Windsor and Newton series 7 and a Raphael 4/0 for fine detail work.
What do you use to thin your paints?
These days as my speed has increased I mainly use water. But leading up to that I would get some extra work time out of a 50/50 mixture of distilled water and liquid retardant, or dry time extender from Anita's. Available at most craft stores, the brand isn't quite as important as the properties, you want a liquid medium opposed to a gel medium.
What do you use to thin paints for the airbrush?
You might laugh but I use ammonia free Windex. It's up for debate but I'll point to my results to answer most questions.
How do I set up private lesson?
Simply email me at Samsonminis@hotmail.com for the grand write up.
Why should I grow long hair?
Because length is strength and the longer your locks, the deeper your thoughts.
More to come as I update and add questions, this is just the beginning :)
