Finished! Dire Avengers

Just when I thought I was done with tabletop quality my local buddy asked I could paint up a quick squad of Dire Avengers so he can get his shadow wars on. I was happy to oblige and was able to paint them up alongside other projects in a couple afternoons.

Finished! Wraithlord

I'm back! California was great and I'm planning to return. Pretty much going to go nomad in the future but I'll save that for another post. For now it's back business and business in very busy :) This is a piece I started right before leaving and couldn't quite give it the time it needed, so I finished it up the day I got home ha.

WIP Wraithknight Part Two

You're not seeing it wrong, this is a different Wraithknight from last time..I decided to switch gears quick and start a project I could finish before my vacation. I'll be visiting California this weekend for a hefty 10 days. I might be moving there so I have some research to do. So here is the result of that gear switching, a craftoworld Mymera Wraithknight!

At this point I'm on to the brushwork. I'm trying to finish this by tomorrow night so it might be a photo finish. Time will tell!

Finished! Eldar Combat Patrol

First step is getting that fine fine turquoise to come out juuuust riiiight.

Something for my local buddy Kevin as there has been some interest in combat patrol. Can I paint these before GW changes that? Satay tuned and find out!

Finished! Baharroth, Cry of the wind

One more addition to the Mymera army painted a few posts back. Bharroth, Cry of the Wind, Kevin the bits pimp put him together and I smoothed out the edges.

What's on the table?

Many projects, that's what! Kind of a granted on a blog about miniatures but sometimes projects slip through the radar of my blog. I sat down today and realised I was triple teamed. So here's a little moment in time, before the bristles and after the airbrush. It's a tabletop job for Joey from This is Not a Test. A few WreckAge figures, some bones monsters, and a couple zombies from Brigade Games.

Dude, where's my army? Following the mymera Eldar commission my buddy Kevin had to add some bass to the mix. Also, a scratch build Baharroth, he'll have his own post in the future.

Here lies the future banner of clan Teknes, a personal project of mine involving a Wrath of Kings figure. You can see his base coming along in the first picture.

Finished! Craftworl Mymera Jetbike Army

Usually I take pictures of the individual units when I complete and army but this time I thought it would be fun to try something different. The actual list is many small identical units so at a glance it only looks like three. I assure you it's more than three units and makes a full army list. Every time I paint an army it's bit of a gauntlet, but the end result is always worth it. Waverunners Hoooooo!!

Mymera Madness, Step One

The last few days have been spent deep jamming on an Eldar army for my buddy's Adepticon dance :) Come along, loyal reader, for a story told by pictures! And words!

So lets begin at the end, here they stand at present day, waiting for some brushwork. This post is also made with my phone, so if it looks different, that's why ;)

33 Jetbikes and 10 Warp Spiders, I started off with the spiders to get the project moving and also because they have their own paint scheme, being aspect warriors. 

Once I had a decent start on them I turned my attention the the mass amount of waverunners. Trying something a little different with them by applying the white portion of my primer with an airbrush. This gave me a smoother undercoat to apply the turquoise on top of. After a a few tones and and inkwash, much smoother in my opinion :)

I was really able to use liquid mask and masking tape to a great effect on this army. If you don't have any, give it a try. Huge time saver.
