WIP Lord Putro

Here's where I ended up after about 6 hours of painting and modelling. Lord Putro, fat and sassy. Not the best pictures but you get the idea. I just picked two of my favorite colors and attempted to make them work. So far I'm a happy man.

The white globules on the base are still untouched, they will match the drip coming from his intestines after the next sit down with him.

Working with the colors of rot is very comfortable. Pretty much anything goes and I like it that way :)

Finished! Great Unclean One

This one is going to be hard to part with. It has inspired me to create a similar piece for my own collection but more on that later. Here's big pappa in all his gleeful putrescence.

Head over to Coolmini to see larger pictures. I was too lazy to cut them up this time.

The Daily Mission

If I choose to accept it..I will. The Great Unclean One is finally getting somewhere. I have a good foundation and now I've been working him up piece by piece, today's focus will be on the open wounds :) Here are a couple shots of where he is for the moment. Not the best pictures but you get the idea.

I also have more freaks and geeks to paint up for WreckAge

As you can see I have today's work cut out for myself so I'm off. Stay tuned.

Greatest Unclean One step 1

There may never be a step two. The idea was to do my regular process in reverse. Ordinarily I start pieces with the airbrush and follow it with the hand.

Here he is with some wet blending. I wanted to start him off with a rough basecoat and follow it with some airbrush work. Maybe get some transparencies happening.

This is what made up layer two and the basecoat was finished. At this point he's seen many more hours with the brush, these were taken two days ago. I should have more very soon. I'm loving this piece :)

Finished! Ky-ra'

Just don't ask me how to pronounce the name. She was on e of my entries for this year's (2013) Crystal Brush Awards. She didn't place but she's still a winner in my book :) It was very fun to paint something that looked like it was peeled off a Frazetta painting. My only gripe is that the water effects didn't come out as planned.

The whole friggin town is here

Thirty assorted WreckAge minis for my boys to run some demos :) I also have some display quality jobs from this line to churn out in the future. That fat pile of gut in back is on the chopping block.

I also had some fun with some wee little bricks from Secret Weapon. Very cool stuff on that site :) Hopefully I can finish these two off by Sunday but don't hold your breath.

Finished! The Swarmlord

A recent commission that is safely on it's way down under. Man I love Tyranids..Every time I paint one of these monsters I fantasize about and entire army of bugs. Then reality sets in. I think I'll be painting one of the big bugs up for my own collection in the future. Maybe hah

The dust will never settle

I'm back from Adepticon..well, about two weeks ago I was but life is hectic. Words can't quite describe the feeling, or I don't want to show my soft side, but the feeling is good. It's hard to believe how many doors were opened over that weekend. Many opportunities came my way and I'll just let them unfold as they happen. Unfortunately the camera was left behind so I only have a few photos to share.

I was happy to add two more Crystal Brushes to my collection. Very unexpected, I was only hoping to place..just once and I'd be happy. I not only placed but I placed twice and with a gold and a silver this time :)

There was a time when it was about awards, I think every good painter goes through it. I've been snubbed at competitions before and learned what's really important is loving what you do. Even if some people would call it Porn? That's not my opinion of the piece and since it's the internet...I don't care. I love strong women and I'll leave it at that.

The highlight of the weekend was meeting painting Guru Jarhead/Roman of  Massive Voodoo. Definitely someone I've been inspired by and meeting him was a bit of a boner maker for me. I'm glad he wasn't an asshole, great guy inside and out :) I could go on..

Now I'm back and more motivated than ever so as the title suggests, the dust will never settle.

As I'm finally back home and into the swing of things posting can resume so stick around and maybe, just maybe, I'll actually finish one of the projects you've seen above.
